About Us

Welcome to Savor Wine Boutique…

Where wine meets sustainability!

Imagine a place where casual sophistication and rustic charm meet a modern aesthetic – this is Savor Wine Boutique. We’re a customer-centric, neighborhood wine retail store featuring fine wines from around the world. Our focus is on artisan wines (small batches by independent producers) at affordable prices. The store is a haven for the enlightened wine drinker, both novice and aficionado alike. We’re eager to help you trace the grape in your glass to the soil and toil that produced it and provide opportunities to learn more about wine in a welcoming and unpretentious environment.

We specialize in wines that are not mass-produced or readily available in grocery and package stores. We like to know where our wines come from and support small, family-owned vineyards. This is what we call the “value in the vineyard”! Look for a carefully curated selection of fair trade wines, organic and biodynamic wines, along with global wines from well-known regions (but lesser known producers) including France, Italy, Spain, South Africa and South America.

Savor Wine Boutique features a wine library and reading lounge, wine furniture and accessories, a tasting table, and our weekly wine tastings allow you try before you buy. You can find us in historic Kirkwood at Kirkwood Station, just five miles from downtown Atlanta. We are surrounded by shopping, dining, art galleries, spas and restaurants and close to Little 5 Points, Decatur, Candler Park, East Atlanta, and Virginia Highlands.

The next sip is yours… Cheers!

Slow Wine

Slow Wine

Savor Wine Boutique was founded on the notion that we will sell delicious wines made as naturally as possible. We search out wines that aren’t on steroids – what we like to call slow wines. Slow wines are the opposite of industrial wines. Industrial wines are mass-produced and made from high-yielding irrigated vineyards, with grapes grown using herbicides and pesticides, mechanically harvested, engineered with lab yeasts, artificial flavors and stabilizers. Slow wines are made from vineyards with little or no pesticides, herbicides, chemical additives and added flavors. Slow wines are made sustainably, organically or biodynamically, on a small scale, from grapes grown in low-yielding, dry-farmed vineyards.

Slow winemakers tend to harvest by hand with careful selection. Slow wines aren’t made with laboratory yeasts, but with ambient yeasts so that the fermented grapes can naturally express themselves and the place from which they come (terroir). New oak barrels, if used, are used judiciously. Many winemakers who take the slow wine approach do so without certification, simply because they believe it’s the way wine should be made and have done it this way for many generations.

Our goal is to find the best of these wines and bring them directly to you!

About Us

Wine Furniture Collection

Savor Wine Boutique has gained access to a supply of the very vessels that give wine it’s taste and character – previously used oak wine barrels! More than 800,000 of these barrels are produced yearly and then discarded after only a few years. The collection includes tables, chairs, stools, sideboards, benches, display stands and more using barrel staves. Many items have handforged wrought iron details.

We hope the pieces in our collection will give your home the same comfortable enjoyment as the wine you drink and that our efforts to reuse, recycle and revalue helps in some small way to improve the view from your veranda.

Cork Recycle Program

RecycleWe Want YOUR Cork! Natural cork, the kind used in wine closures, is a perfect choice for recycling. It’s 100% natural, biodegradable and renewable. There is no reason natural wine corks should end up as garbage when recycled cork can become flooring tiles, building insulation, automotive gaskets, craft materials, soil conditioner and sports equipment. Because of a worldwide interest in sustainable agriculture and natural products like cork, an alliance of concerned businesses, individuals, and ecological organizations has been formed to address the opportunities to recycle natural cork closures.

Savor Wine Boutique has partnered with a company who turns spent wine corks into new footwear and other everyday products. Our goal is to recycle as many corks as we can and educate and inform our patrons about the crucial role cork forests play in curbing climate change. Please save your old wine corks and bring them into the store to help fill our cork collection bin. In exchange, you’ll have the chance to attend wine tastings and educational classes at no cost. Simply complete a cork donation form with each deposit, we will randomly select one winner each month. Restaurants and wine bars, we need your help too! Get involved, together we can all make a difference.
